Leisure Planning - Local Development Framework Representations
The GVA Humberts Leisure Planning team has considerable experience and success in submitting planning policy and site development representations and representing clients at examination hearings for Local Development Framework development plan documents. Some of our recent success stories which have secured positive planning policy and site allocations for development are illustrated below.
Colchester LDF Core Strategy and Site Allocations
Core strategy representations and examination into the Colchester LDF Core Strategy DPD on behalf of Park Resorts. We were successful in establishing favourable tourist accommodation planning policy which provides support for holiday park extensions. Subsequently we have been successful in getting a site for the expansion of approximately 200 holiday pitches included in the Site Allocations DPD.
Dover LDF Core Strategy
Core Strategy representations and attendance at the Dover District Core Strategy examination. Through this process we were successful in getting agreement to references to the need to plan for low cost market housing (i.e. park homes) to be included within the planning policy of the Core Strategy.
Tynedale LDF Core Strategy
LDF representations for a former colliery site, adjacent to an existing home park, to be considered for affordable low cost housing in the Tynedale LDF and presentation of our clients' case at the public examination in order to make sure that the Core Strategy identified the need to consider this type of low cost housing.
Regional Spatial Strategies
As national planning advisers to the British Holiday & Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) we have submitted representations and given evidence in response to consultations on the draft Regional Spatial Strategies (RSS) for the North East, North West, Yorkshire & Humber, West Midlands, East Midlands, South West and South East Regions highlighting the need for regional policy to guide local authorities in planning for tourist accommodation for low-cost housing such as park homes.
Bracknell Forest LDF Core Strategy
Core strategy representations to the Bracknell Forest LDF Core Strategy DPD and public examination on behalf of Warfield Park Homes. As a result of our representations the Core Strategy was amended to include the need to plan for low cost housing such as park homes. We are now liaising with the council with regard to their Site Allocations and Development Management Policies DPD.
