Hoeseasons has reported a surge in bookings made through travel agents. The UK self-catering operator said its like-for-like sales made via agents in the first four weeks of the year were 13% higher than in the corresponding period of 2007. Pali Badwal, Hoeseasons business development director, added: “We are showing strong growth from agents throughout the UK regions.” Hoeseasons said the growth reflected its ‘strongly held view’ that 2008 will be a bumper year for UK holidays, as consumers stay closer to home in response to concerns over the ongoing credit crunch.
