Travelodge to invest ₤14m on new hotels

Travelodge has unveiled plans to invest ₤14m in five new hotel developments, adding 416 rooms to its estate and creating 70 jobs.  The first, a 60-room hotel which will sit opposite Chester’s historic Roman Amphitheatre represents a ₤3m investment.  The second is a 90-room hotel situated in Torquay.  The 90-room hotel will be located on Newton Road and represents an investment of ₤3.6m.  The third, located next to Wolverhampton Football Club is a ₤5m investment and will mean converting Bankfield House, a former 1960’s office block on Waterloo Road to a 99-room Travelodge.  Fourth is a new hotel development site in Aberdeen, which will create 30 new jobs.  The 120-room hotel, located on Justice Mill Lane, will represent a ₤4.8m investment.  Finally the fifth site is in Lowestoft - a 47-room hotel located on Yarmouth Road which will represent a ₤2.3m investment.
