Northern Irish investment company WG Mitchell has sold the Point Hotel in central Edinburgh for more than ₤20m to Jersey-based private investor EBH.  The 139-bedroom hotel in Bread Street will be rebranded the Mercure Point after EBH signed an agreement with Accor to manage it.  The Point, which opened in 1996, is one of Edinburgh’s most well-known hotels.  It has six conference suites and the deal also includes the sale of the neighbouring bar, the Chanter.
