Tourism Ireland has launched a six-month campaign in an attempt to achieve its target of attracting nine million inbound visitors during 2008. The launch of the ₤25m campaign will coincide with the St Patrick’s Day celebrations and will include promotions in both consumer and b2b media. Tourism Ireland’s chair, Hugh Friel, said: “This spring campaign is the most intensive and most closely targeted we have ever mounted. 2008 will probably be a tough year due to economic uncertainty in some key markets, including the UK and US. We need to pull out all the stops to ensure we get our share of the business to be won.”
