Travelodge buys nine sites

Budget hotel chain Travelodge has bought nine new hotel development sites across the UK.  Travelodge will invest ₤28.3m building the new hotels in Cheshire, Poole, Newport, Felixstowe, Devizes, St Helens, Fort William, Clacton and Ashbourne.  The hotels will add a total of 568 bedrooms to Travelodge’s portfolio.  Travelodge wants to treble the size of its estate by 2020.  this year the hotel chain will open 44 new hotels in locations including Wakefield, Blackpool, Carlisle, London Euston, London Southwark, Bracknell, Cardiff, Uxbridge, Glasgow, Hereford, Lowestoft, Torquay and Stratford on Avon.
