₤16m refurbishment for Crowne Plaza Birmingham hotel

Hotel company Centre Island is investing ₤16m to refurbish the Crowne Plaza hotel in Birmingham’s City Centre.  The project which is due for completion in September will see a complete redesign of the hotel’s 312 bedrooms.  On completion the hotel will also feature a restaurant and eight conference rooms that will accommodate up to 300 people.  Centre Island currently operates eight hotels in Merseyside and it employs 800 members of staff.  The company’s turnover last year was ₤32m.
