Weather dampens Welsh tourism

Tourism in Wales hit a slump in 2007, the UK Tourism Survey 2007 has revealed. The survey, which measures stays by UK residents, shows that trips to Wales were down by nearly 8 per cent last year compared with 2006, slipping from 9.61 million that year to 8.85 million in 2007. Tourism expenditure in Wales fell by 13 per cent, from ₤1.633bn in 2006 to ₤1.418bn in 2007.
