UK hotels see good start to summer

The latest figures from PKF Hotel Consultancy Services show UK hoteliers had a steady June, with most reporting increased rooms yield. London hotel room rates increased an average of 7% year-on-year from £148.14 to £158.51. Occupancy dipped by 2.6% in the capital, mostly due to the beginning of the holiday season affecting business travel. Overall, rooms yield or revenue per available room (RevPAR) rose 4.3% in London. In the regions, room rates increased by 2%, from £77 in June 2007 to £78.56 last month.
