Holiday Inn owner InterContinental hotels, the world's largest hotelier, warned a slump in fourth-quarter bookings had continued into 2009 with "no signs of improvement" on the horizon. The UK-based hotels giant, which also operates the Crowne Plaza brand, said worldwide revenues per available room (revpar) – a key industry measure – dived 12.2 per cent in January. In the final three months of 2008, revpar was down by 6.5 per cent year-on-year.
